Wedding mementos, we all have them; corsages, boutonniere's, bouquets, invitations, etc... but what do we do with them? These items are special and deserve to be preserved so that you can look at them often to remember the details of the special day. My son's wedding was last year and I have thought about framing the mementos for awhile, but how? The cheap shadow box I had from Joann's wasn't deep enough. Last week I had the perfect thought! This was an old clock of my mother's. After she passed, I found it in my grandpa's house and took it home. The clock no longer worked so I took out the clock pieces, painted it white and hung it on my dinning wall to display odds and ends. The past few days I have turned it into a shadow box for Travin and Jaylee's wedding memorabilia and it turned out perfect! First, I played with the placement which to be honest, too awhile. Then I whipped out the old glue gun and began gluing the tie, corsage and boutonniere. I cut up a pizza box from the trash and glued about 10 small pieces together so that their announcement will pop out. Jaylee loves pearls, they are both her and Travin's birthstone. I purchased this little jar to display a few of the pearls left over from the wedding. What do you think of mom's old clock? Isn't she beautiful? Now I need to find something to frame Camrie's wedding memories in.
